Salisbury University The Plan Discussion
Each project team in this class will develop a plan for a group that would have been helpful after the shootings in Orlando, FL. For more information on the shootings go here: Orlando Nightclub Shootings. The group you propose could be focused on assisting one of the following populations:
Students on a local college campus/secondary school who lost friends or loved ones in the shooting
Social workers and other professionals who are a part of the emergency response teams in the area (task group)
Survivors who were in the nightclub on that night
Create a plan based upon the outline described below and put it in a post. Each team needs to create only ONE post.
The Plan:
Each team in this class will be expected to develop the following components for their group:
Decide on a purpose and structure for the group.
- Describe the following about your group:
- Size
- Length of session
# of sessions
Type of group (open, closed, task, treatment, and so on)
Who will be included
Groups should also decide how they will conduct introductions.
What kind of icebreaker will be used?
What would be some of the information that would be reviewed during the orientation part of the first group meeting?
What would be some of the objectives that you would develop for the beginning stage of this group?
